Water Area Scenic Zone

Through dredging and management efforts, four rubber dams were constructed at the Shangyang Palace, Tongle Park, Luoshen Garden, and Zhoushan between 2000 and 2004. These dams transformed the four-level water area, spanning 600 to 800 meters in width and covering an area of over 9 million square meters, into a beautiful scenery of clear blue waters under the sky. Not only do these water features enhance the aesthetic appeal of Luopu Park, but they also play a crucial role in regulating the climate of Luoyang. Additionally, they have significantly improved the flood control capacity of the Luo River, from a 20-year flood recurrence interval to a 100-year flood recurrence interval.
