West Lake Culture Square (西湖文化广场) is situated on the north side of the canal at Wulin Square in Hangzhou, just 2 kilometers away from West Lake. It serves as a comprehensive square integrating cultural entertainment, performances, exhibitions, and fitness activities. Covering a total area of 13.3 hectares, the centerpiece of the square is the 41-story, 170-meter-high Zhejiang Global Center.
The architecture of the Zhejiang Global Center adopts a design characterized by geometric shapes that converge and diverge, showcasing a modern aesthetic and an open character while also reflecting the spirit of traditional Wu-Yue architecture.
The square’s buildings are divided into five main blocks: A, B, C, D, and E. Block A houses the Zhejiang Science and Technology Museum, Block B hosts the Zhejiang Natural Museum, Block C is home to the Zhejiang Cultural and Art Center, and Block D features the Zhejiang Global Center office building. Block E includes the West Lake Seal Society, Zhejiang Provincial Museum, Zhejiang Revolution History Memorial Hall, and Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. Surrounding the square are numerous restaurants, cinemas, and other amenities, attracting a continuous stream of visitors.
West Lake Culture Square serves as the starting point for cruises on the Grand Canal. As night falls, the square lights up with dazzling lights, offering a captivating light show. It’s a popular spot for locals to take a leisurely stroll after dinner. Walking along the Binhe Road, visitors can reach the Gongchen Bridge, enjoying beautiful scenery and immersing themselves in the rich cultural atmosphere of the area, allowing them to experience the historical heritage of this neighborhood.

West Lake Culture Square is located on the north side of the canal at Wulin Square in Gongshu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Situated in the heart of Hangzhou’s city center, its precise address is 47 Huancheng North Road. To get there, you can choose one of the following ways:
Bus: Take bus 3, 19, 30, 38, 65, 67, 274, or 1004 and get off at West Lake Culture Square Stop (西湖文化广场站).
Metro: The closest metro station is West Lake Culture Square (西湖文化广场站) on line 1, line 3, and 19. After getting out of the station from Exit C, walk about 200 meters to the south to reach the square.
