Located 500 meters south of the intersection of Zhongyuan West Road and West Fourth Ring Road, the Zhengzhou Botanical Garden (郑州植物园) covers an area of 57.45 hectares. It officially opened on April 30, 2009, and currently houses over 1,800 species and more than 1.2 million plants. Serving as a comprehensive botanical park, it integrates scientific research, public education, plant cultivation, leisure, and tourism.
The eastern part of the garden primarily focuses on collecting and displaying various plant species, featuring fifteen specialized gardens including a rose garden, peony garden, and native plant garden. On the other hand, the western section emphasizes the practical application of botanical science, promoting education through entertainment with attractions such as a children’s exploration garden and a bonsai garden. Additionally, there are more than 30 scenic spots across eight major areas like the “Flower Sea Welcome Area” and the “Elephant Lake Landscape Area.”
The Tropical Plant Exhibition Greenhouse within the Zhengzhou Botanical Garden is a prominent venue showcasing tropical plants. Spanning 5,400 square meters with a maximum height of 30.4 meters, its architectural design draws inspiration from the Central Plains Bianzhong culture. The greenhouse includes areas for tropical and subtropical plants, xerophytic plants, and tropical rainforest plants, offering visitors the opportunity to appreciate tropical flora throughout the year. With opening hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, the garden closes for maintenance every Monday and accommodates up to 3,000 visitors per day, playing a significant role in public education.

Location and Transportation
The Zhengzhou Botanical Garden is located 500 meters south of the intersection of Zhongyuan West Road and West Fourth Ring Road, near the Wenhan Street Branch of Zhengzhou Museum. It is bordered by the West Fourth Ring Road to the west, the Zhengzhou Olympic Sports Center to the north, and Longhai Road to the south. To get there, you can choose one of the following ways:
Bus: Take bus 302 or S601 and get off at Zhengzhou Botanical Garden Stop (郑州植物园站).
Metro: The closest metro station to Zhengzhou Botanical Garden is Olympic Center (奥体中心) on line 6 and line 14. After getting out of the station from Exit B, you will be standing at the east entrance of the park.
