Chongqing Science and Technology Museum – Ticket Price, Opening Hours, Transportation, and Highlights

Chongqing Science and Technology Museum

Chongqing Science and Technology Museum (重庆科技馆) is a modern, comprehensive, and multifunctional science education center open to the public. With an impressive architectural space spanning 48,300 square meters, the museum offers an array of exhibits covering diverse fields, including materials, machinery, transportation, military technology, aerospace, microelectronics, information technology, computer applications, virtual simulation technology, life sciences, environmental science, basic sciences, and ancient Chinese scientific and technological achievements.

The museum’s exterior design seamlessly blends two distinct materials – stone and glass. The stone façade features a mosaic of colors, creating the appearance of layered, rugged rocks, symbolizing the “mountains.” Complementing this, the transparent glass curtain wall, which covers 60% of the exterior and spans nearly 10,000 square meters, represents the clarity of “water.” The sharp angles of the stone and the transparency of the glass expertly evoke the essence of Chongqing as the “City of Mountains and Rivers.”
