Xi’an Airport, also known as Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (IATA:XIY,ICAO:ZLXY), is situated in the Weicheng District of Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, China. Located approximately 25 kilometers from the downtown area of Xi’an, it is classified as a 4F-grade civil international airport and ranks among China’s eight major regional hub airports, as well as one of the world’s top 100 major airports.

Officially inaugurated for operation on September 1, 1991, the airport has undergone multiple expansions. It currently consists of two terminal buildings, T2 and T3, along with the North and South flight zones. The North flight zone features three runways, while the South flight zone has one runway. All facilities, including the runways and terminal buildings, are constructed in accordance with international standards to accommodate the takeoff and landing of large aircraft and meet the travel needs of passengers.

In recent years, Xi’an Xianyang International Airport has continuously expanded and optimized its route network. In addition to domestic routes, the airport offers numerous international (regional) routes, connecting to destinations such as the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, Tokyo in Japan, Busan in South Korea, and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, providing passengers with convenient international travel options.

In terms of transportation connectivity, Xi’an Xianyang International Airport is seamlessly linked to Xi’an North Railway Station via Metro Line 14, facilitating rapid transfers between the airport and the railway hub. Furthermore, the airport is served by several bus routes and taxi services in its vicinity, offering passengers a diverse range of transportation options.
