Jiaxing Travel Guide
Jiaxing, often referred to as the “Land of Fish and Rice” and the “Home of Silk,” is renowned for its rich natural resources and has been a significant economic hub since ancient times. The city is home to the charming ancient towns of Wuzhen and Xitang, the scenic South Lake that combines mountains, sea, and lake, the grand Xiyuan Garden, the picturesque Jiulong Mountain, and the enchanting Yanyu Pavilion hidden in the alleyways. These attractions beautifully showcase the elegance of the Jiangnan region and the charm of its water towns.
The best times to visit Jiaxing are in spring and autumn, especially in May when the South Lake hosts a tourism festival. Additionally, from the 16th to the 19th day of the eighth lunar month, Haining Yanguan Town hosts the China International Qiantang River Tide-Watching Festival.

At night, Wuzhen transforms with hazy lights, subtly revealing the picturesque beauty of the Jiangnan… Read more »

The weather is warm today, and wearing a down jacket feels a bit hot. The temperature difference between morning and evening here is quite significant. If you’re planning to visit Wuzhen soon, make sure to keep warm!
1️⃣ Nanhu: It was cold, and if you’re not very interested in history, the pavilions aren’t really worth seeing. The scenery is quite nice, but when we went, it was mostly filled with elderly people. 2️⃣ Luxihui and Yuehe: There was nobody around and not many shops, especially at Luxihui‼️ Plus, a lot of places were under renovation. I’m not sure why this spot has become popular. 3️⃣ The Church: If it weren’t for the photos, I would have completely… Read more »
Jiaxing is truly a city that surprised me greatly. Traveling solo meant I had fewer considerations, so I could go wherever I wanted. The attractions are all very close to each other, allowing me to explore most of them in just one day. First of all, the prices are quite reasonable! Secondly, every spot is perfect for taking beautiful photos! Furthermore, the food is absolutely delicious! And there are really not many people around. I can genuinely say that it’s… Read more »
