Location and Transportation

Guanmen Mountain Scenic Area is situated along the banks of the Shicao River in the southern outskirts of the Shennongjia Forestry District’s Muyu Tourist Resort, Hubei Province.

To get there, you can first take a high-speed train to Xingshan Station (兴山站). From Xingshan, a 1.5-hour car ride will transport you to Muyu Town (木鱼镇) in Shennongjia, where you can find many cars and coaches to the mountain.

Azalea Graden

Within the Azalea Garden, a unique spectacle unfolds with the presence of pink and white azaleas. This botanical haven showcases the diversity of flora, providing a captivating display of nature’s beauty. As you explore further upstream along the Red River Valley in the Yangquan River, you’ll encounter a pristine and untouched wilderness, home to a myriad of wildlife. Natural Ecology Museum

The Natural Ecology Museum serves as a platform for the public to explore the biodiversity of Shennongjia. Comprising four thematic museums – Geology Museum, Ecology Museum, Scientific Expedition Museum, and Folk Custom Museum – along with a Wildman Cave, a reception hall, an academic lecture hall, and a temporary exhibition hall, the museum provides a comprehensive and authentic portrayal of Shennongjia’s ecological diversity.


Rare Plant Conservation Park

The Rare Plant Conservation Park is a vast mountainous forest botanical garden with a primary focus on species conservation, scientific research, and tourism. Boasting over 2,000 native plant species from Shennongjia, including more than 150 rare and endemic plants, the park showcases the rich botanical heritage of the region. The collection includes 112 species of native wild fruit trees, 56 species of wild orchids, 23 species of wild rhododendrons, 46 species of deciduous trees with red leaves, 162 species of medicinal deciduous trees, 46 species of medicinal shrubs, 60 species of medicinal vines, and 876 species of medicinal herbs, along with over 80 species of Rosaceae plants, and 14 varieties of plum trees native to Shennongjia and its surroundings.


Wildlife Park

The Wildlife Park is a captivating blend of wildlife conservation, breeding, and research, offering a unique opportunity for tourists to observe various species in their natural habitat. The park features the breeding and conservation of animals such as roe deer, white muntjacs, lesser muntjacs, pheasants, snakes, Chinese giant salamanders, golden trout, rainbow trout, turtles, Yangtze alligator, Qi Kou Lie Fu fish, sturgeon, and honeybees.
