Bishagang Park (碧沙岗公园), covering an area of approximately 400 acres, is one of the three famous parks in the urban area of Zhengzhou City, alongside Zhengzhou People’s Park and Zhengzhou Zijingshan Park. It holds the distinction of being the oldest park established in Zhengzhou City.
As a historical landmark of modern Chinese revolutionary history, Bishagang Park boasts well-preserved relics. Among them, the Zhongshan Area, Martyrs Shrine, and Monument Pavilion serve as witnesses to history. Upon entering from the park’s northern gate, visitors are greeted by the “Monument to the Northern Expedition War,” standing nearly 18 meters tall. Inscribed on its facade are ten golden characters proclaiming the eternal glory of the fallen soldiers of the Northern Expedition. The relief sculptures on the monument depict the heroic figures of the Northern Expedition army.
The park boasts a green coverage rate of 94.3% and features five distinctive gardens, including the Peony Garden, Magnolia Garden, and Agarwood Garden, with over 200 species of trees. Additionally, it houses a tropical fish exhibition hall, a bonsai garden, a cinema, an ice skating rink, a spaceship playground, and a children’s park, all laid out in an orderly manner.
From March 9th to March 30th, 2021, the 12th Zhengzhou Begonia Cultural Festival was held at Bishagang Park. During this period, more than 20 new and renovated garden attractions were introduced, with enhancements made to the park’s three main gates and circular route. The southern gate’s cloud wall incorporated new forms such as hand-painted murals and reliefs, complemented by elements like poetry and bonsai.

Location and Transportation
Bishagang Park is located at No. 31 Jianshe East Road, Erqi District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. It is situated to the east of the Zhengzhou Artillery Academy, stretching westward to Songshan Road, southward to Zhongyuan Road, and northward to Jianshe Road. To get there, you can choose one of the following ways:
Bus: Take bus 1, 49, 84, 102, 254, B11, G102, G50, or Y61 and get off at the West Gate of Bishagang Park Stop (碧沙岗公园西门站).
Metro: The closest metro station to Bishagang Park is Lvcheng Square (绿城广场) on line 1 and line 10. After getting out of the station from Exit J, you will be standing right at the south entrance.
