Fujian Travel Guide

Fujian Province, abbreviated as “Min,” is located on the southeastern coast of China, facing Taiwan across the Taiwan Strait. With a forest coverage rate of 65.95%, it boasts the highest greenery in the country. The province features a rugged coastline, with a land length of 3,751.5 kilometers.

Fujian is rich in attractions worth exploring. The capital city, Fuzhou, is home to vibrant spots like Sanfang Qixiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys), West Lake Park, and Gushan (Drum Mountain), allowing visitors to experience the relaxed and joyful lifestyle of the city. The charming city of Xiamen, known as “Egret Island,” offers the quaint atmosphere of Gulangyu Island, a bustling Zhongshan Road filled with delicious food, and the picturesque Xiamen University. Quanzhou, hailed as the “starting point of the Maritime Silk Road,” preserves cultural heritage represented by Nanyin music, Southern drama, and Southern architecture, while also being famous for producing Tieguanyin, one of China’s top ten teas.

Zhangzhou, known as the “land of fish, rice, flowers, and fruits,” is abundant in various fruits and seafood. It features the scenic Nanjing Yunshuiyao, with its clear waters, and is home to China’s only coastal volcanic geological tourism area. The renowned Wuyi Mountains in Nanping, known for their stunning natural beauty, are a paradise for nature lovers. Lastly, Pingtan, the closest point on the mainland to Taiwan Island, is Fujian’s largest island and China’s fifth-largest island, often referred to as Fujian’s “Maldives.” Prepare to bask in the brightest sunshine here during the summer!
