Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park – The Largest Wildlife Park in Aisa

Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park

Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park (广州长隆野生动物世界) is the largest wildlife park in Asia, renowned for its extensive free-range animal exhibits and self-driving safari experiences. Spanning over 2,000 acres, the park features a subtropical rainforest ecosystem that showcases the rich biodiversity of South China. Visitors can observe more than 20,000 animals, including rare and endangered species like 12 giant pandas, 57 koalas, and nearly 200 white tigers, totaling over 500 different species from around the world.

The park is designed with an emphasis on wildlife conservation and education, featuring informative signage, eight educational classrooms, and over 20 science stations throughout the grounds. The main attractions are divided into three areas: the aerial cable car zone, the self-driving tour zone, and the walking tour zone.

Aerial Cable Car Zone: The aerial cable car offers a unique 720-degree view of the wildlife, covering a distance of 2.7 kilometers while providing educational commentary on the animals and their natural habitats. There are three stations along the route: the Panda Paradise Station, the African Savannah Station, and the Swan Lake Station.

Self-Driving Tour Zone: Chimelong Safari Park is a pioneer in the “Drive with the Beasts” self-driving safari experience, with a vast 1 million square meter area dedicated to this attraction. The self-driving zone is designed to mimic the natural habitats of the animals, allowing them to roam freely in an open space. This immersive experience enables visitors to observe the animals up close while ensuring a safe environment for both guests and wildlife.

Walking Tour Zone: The walking tour zone features a variety of themed exhibits, including Hundred Tigers Mountain, Giraffe Plaza, Panda Paradise, Koala Garden, Asian Elephant Park, African Forest, and many more. Here, visitors can encounter a stunning array of rare animals such as giant pandas, koalas, white tigers, South China tigers, Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, and a plethora of other species, including monkeys, flamingos, and even orangutans.
