This weekend, Nanluoguxiang and Shichahai were packed with people and it was hard to see the road! The bar street was already singing and drawing in customers in the afternoon. Due to the hot weather, there were many people enjoying the tea drinks nearby. There was also a performance featuring African drums, with lively singing and dancing that encouraged tourists to give it a try as well.
It’s quite suitable for taking a stroll after dinner; the atmosphere is very nice.
The once-popular bars of Houhai are gradually disappearing, replaced by various snack shops, and only a few remain.
The surface of Houhai Lake is covered with a thin layer of ice, so ice skating is definitely not possible. Walking along the northern shore of Houhai and then making a detour to Gulou West Street, you’ll pass by landmarks like the Soong Ching-ling Residence, the National Religious Affairs Administration, and the former Prince Chun’s Mansion.
