Jinuo Village (基诺山寨), located in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna, is the gathering place of the Jinuo ethnic group and serves as the most comprehensive and concentrated showcase of Jinuo culture in the country. It offers visitors an immersive experience of Jinuo culture through live performances and traditional customs.
The village’s main performance area is the Sun Square, where young men and women dressed in Jinuo costumes present grand performances accompanied by singing and dancing. Visitors can enjoy local grilled meat while witnessing the vibrant ethnic performances, immersing themselves in the rich Jinuo culture.
In 2007, Jinuo Drum Dance was selected as one of the first national intangible cultural heritages. Jinuo hunting instruments such as “Qike” and “Bug” have also been listed as state-level intangible cultural heritages. In 2014, based on a deep understanding of Jinuo ethnic music, dance, and cultural heritage, the live performance “Youle Youle” was created to promote cultural experiences. The performance showcases various aspects of Jinuo culture, from agriculture, hunting, and brewing to clothing, customs, and goddess worship. By combining a mobile natural stage with a mobile appreciation platform, visitors can deeply experience the traditional culture and essence of the Jinuo ethnic group.

Location and Transportation
Jinuo Village is located in Jinuo Township, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is approximately 23 kilometers from Jinghong, 6 kilometers from Mengyang, and 3 kilometers from the Jinuo Township government office. Visitors can take shuttle buses from Jinghong to Menglun or Mengla and get off at the Jinuo Village scenic area, with a fare of around 15 yuan. Buses from Mengla to Kunming, Simao, and other destinations also pass by Jinuo Village, allowing travelers to alight midway for a visit.
