Qi Baishi (齐白石) (1864-1957) was a highly influential Chinese artist who is renowned for his unique style of painting, calligraphy, and seal carving. Born in Xiangtan, Hunan province, China, Qi Baishi was originally trained as a carpenter and started learning painting and calligraphy in his spare time at the age of 27.
