Highlights of Shouyi Square

Meticulously Picked Trees

The planners of Shouyi Square went to great lengths to select the trees that would adorn the square. They sought not only fully grown trees but also ones with perfectly symmetrical canopies. The shape of the canopies was required to be almost identical, and the height of each tree, from the base to the top, was meticulously measured and numbered in ascending order. Each tree was then planted in its designated spot according to the design, making the entire landscape appear impeccably orderly.

Year-round Blossoms

Even in winter, flowers in Shouyi Cultural Park continue to bloom, thanks to a geothermal temperature maintenance system. This system transfers heat from 32 meters underground to the soil beneath the flower beds and two adjacent auxiliary flower beds, keeping the soil temperature and moisture at around 30 degrees Celsius. As a result, the plants remain unfazed by the cold, allowing the flowers to bloom all year long. Moreover, since Wuhan experiences long, hot summers, a large number of white and yellow hues dominate the flower selection, creating a sense of coolness and freshness. In contrast, for the colder winter months, red and purple hues take over, evoking a warm and vibrant ambiance.

Convenient Underground Passageways

Visitors at Shouyi Cultural Park can seamlessly traverse from the park to the Yellow Crane Tower on foot, and vehicles can access a dedicated pathway leading from the parking area directly to the Yangtze River Bridge. This design integrates the entire Shouyi Cultural and Tourism Zone into a coherent experience. To ensure accessibility for people with disabilities, the park is entirely free of steps and features a smooth granite marble surface, allowing easy passage for disabled individuals and their vehicles.
