Yuhu Bay (浴鹄湾), situated in an advantageous location east of Yanggong Causeway and west of Santai Mountain Road, stretching from the Santai Dreamland Scenic Area in the north to Chishan Bu in the south, is one of the pristine natural water sources of West Lake. Formerly known as “Chishan Shuiqu (赤山水曲),” it boasts water quality superior to that of West Lake and remains ecologically intact, offering a rare combination of tranquility, comfort, and picturesque scenery in the vicinity of West Lake.

The Yuhu Bay scenic area is characterized by meandering lake surfaces and winding shorelines surrounded by clear streams, lush forests, pavilions, and arched bridges. The landscape is spectacular, with restored historical sites such as the former residence of Huang Gongwang, Xianxian Hall, Huangmianlou Pavilion, Wuzhuangyuan Arch, and Jihong Bridge, enriching the cultural heritage of the western part of the lake. These ancient relics complement the natural scenery, making Yuhu Bay a tourist destination that embodies both profound historical and cultural significance and captivating natural beauty.

A major highlight of the Yuhu Bay scenic area is the Huangmianlou Pavilion, which was constructed by the renowned literati Zhang Yu.
