Zhoushan Travel Guide
Zhoushan Archipelago, China’s only city renowned for its group of islands, offers an endless array of charming coastal landscapes. The main colors of Zhoushan are the blue sky, emerald sea, green islands, golden sands, and white waves. Characterized by its unique combination of sea, fishing, urban life, islands, ports, navigation, and commerce, Zhoushan integrates island scenery, marine culture, and Buddhist culture. The 1,390 islands, like dazzling pearls, are scattered across the vast expanse of the sea.
The peak tourist season in Zhoushan is from June to October each year. Among the islands, Peach Blossom Island, East Pole Island, Putuo Mountain, Zhujiajian, and Shengsi Islands are all popular summer resorts. Visitors can swim, admire the sea, enjoy the sea breeze, go sea fishing, and watch the sunrise. However, it is essential to take precautions against sunburn. For food enthusiasts specifically seeking seafood, autumn and winter (from October to February) are ideal times to visit, when the shrimps are delicious, the fish are plump, and the variety of seafood is vast and plentiful.

Zhoushan is overly commercialized, with extremely high prices. It’s filled with seafood stalls, but the prices are bizarrely high, and the food isn’t that tasty; it’s not fresh either.
