Rainbow Beach

Crocodile Mountain On Weizhou Island 1

Rainbow Beach, located on the eastern part of Weizhou Island, is named for the vibrant colors that appear on the sea-eroded platform under sunlight during low tide. It is one of the best spots on the island to watch the sunrise over the sea. During low tide, large areas of the sea-eroded platform are exposed, and the water-polished surfaces resemble impressionist art canvases, creating a spectacular view.

At Rainbow Beach, you can witness a rare geological structure where sea-eroded cliffs, sea-eroded caves, and sea-eroded platforms coexist. Additionally, the site features ancient quarries used by Weizhou’s early inhabitants to build their homes.
