Autumn, from September to November, provides cool and dry weather, with temperatures averaging between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius (50 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit). These seasons are ideal for exploring the city’s numerous attractions comfortably.
During these months, Beijing experiences fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season and harsh winter. This allows visitors to enjoy popular landmarks like the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven without the overwhelming tourist crowds.
It’s important to note that Beijing has a continental climate, with hot and humid summers and cold winters. Summer, particularly July and August, can be quite hot and muggy, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). Winter, from December to February, is cold, with temperatures often dropping below freezing and occasional snowfall.

Beijing is amazing in every aspect—delicious food, beautiful sights, and great places to explore. The local people are very friendly and fun to chat with. However, visitors should definitely avoid staying at the Hanting Hotel near Beijing South Railway Station.
The temperature in Beijing is still quite low. Friends visiting Beijing soon should not just wear their down jackets; it’s okay during the day when the sun is out, but it does get really cold in the early morning and at night.
If you’re visiting the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, make sure to arrive early! The wait to get in can take 3 hours, but you’ll only have 2 minutes for your visit. It’s important to plan your time wisely!
Beijing truly deserves its reputation as a tourist hotspot. Every year in August and September, everyone flocks to the city. It’s not an exaggeration to say that it feels like there are a hundred million people in Beijing!!! If they aren’t in the city, they are on their way there.
