Located in the northeastern part of Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province, Jiangling Village (江岭) is renowned for its breathtaking terraced fields filled with rapeseed flowers. These vibrant yellow blossoms spread from the mountaintops down into the valleys, creating a stunning natural tapestry. When viewed from above, the expansive valleys appear blanketed in layers of golden flowers, interspersed with small clusters of traditional Hui-style homes, characterized by their black-tiled roofs and white walls. There is no more spectacular and delightful sight in Wuyuan than this.
Each year, during the blooming season in March and April, Jiangling attracts countless photographers and tourists eager to capture its idyllic scenery. This area epitomizes the pastoral beauty of Wuyuan. Starting from Jiangling, the roads wind through the mountains, offering panoramic views of the terraced fields below. The winding lines of the terraces, the small river in the valley basin, and the three or four villages nestled by the river, all surrounded by verdant hills, form a picturesque rural landscape.
Standing atop a mountain and looking down at the terraced fields, one can see how the terraces coil like chains from the valley floor up to the mountain peaks. This arrangement creates a breathtakingly majestic scene, where the water surfaces mirror the blue sky, enhancing the overall beauty.
In addition to the terraces, Jiangling is also home to high mountain lakes. The northern part of Wuyuan is mountainous, with numerous small streams and rivers nestled between the peaks. Due to the area’s topography, these rivers have significant drops, providing abundant water resources. To harness this, short dams have been built at the river exits from the valleys. These dams, supported by the surrounding high mountains, create large lakes. These high mountain lakes, encased by the green hills, add another layer of charm to Jiangling’s natural landscape.

Location and Transportation
Jiangling Village is located in the northeastern part of Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is situated south of Lingnan and east of Xikou, making it a key destination in the region.
Traveling by minibus is an economical and convenient way to get around Shangrao and its surrounding attractions, including Jiangling Village. Minibus fares typically range around 6 RMB, with the longest trips costing no more than 10 RMB. This method is especially suitable for short trips between different scenic spots within the area.
The entrance ticket is 50 yuan per person, but there isn’t much to see. The rapeseed flowers aren’t blooming yet, and it’s quite cold up in the mountains, so make sure to wear warmer clothes!
The peak season in Jiangling is around the Qingming Festival, when the rapeseed flowers bloom. When we visited, we hardly saw any tourists, but the sunrise in the morning was still beautiful. The downside was the accommodations in Jiangling. Since it is in a tourist area, you have to purchase a ticket to stay there. Even in the off-season, the rate is over 400 RMB for one night. After placing two 1.2-meter beds in the room, there was hardly any… Read more »
We set off for Jiangling at four in the morning. We saw the starry sky, the sea of clouds, and a thin layer of mist. It was so cold, but incredibly beautiful.
Jiangling is a great place to see the rapeseed flowers. Now that it’s the off-season, you can drive in and take pictures freely, which is really nice. We drove to Sanyan Bridge not far away, and the scenery on the road to Sanyan Bridge was absolutely breathtaking. It matched all of my imaginations about the mountains and rivers of Anhui — the clear mountains, green waters, and the sunset were truly beautiful.
