Shenyang Aircraft Corporation Aviation Expo Park (沈飞航空博览园), also known as the “Fighter Jet Theme Park,” is a large, professional museum that combines technology, education, and tourism. The park systematically showcases the development of Chinese fighter jets and aviation science. Opened in 2001, it covers an area of 25,000 square meters and has become a major destination for aviation enthusiasts.
The main exhibition hall of the Aviation Expo Park has three floors. The first floor features an aviation science experience area, offering interactive exhibits to engage visitors in learning about aerospace technologies. The second floor displays the history of China’s aviation industry since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, highlighting key milestones in its development. On the third floor, there is an exhibition dedicated to the accomplishments of Luo Yang, a prominent aviation engineer, along with a multifunctional lecture hall.
Outside the main exhibition hall, the park has a large leisure plaza, a visitor service area, and a fighter jet display area where various types of jets are showcased. The main exhibition hall itself covers over 4,600 square meters and is divided into eight thematic galleries: the Preface Hall, the Blue Sky Dream Hall, the Aviation Patriotism Hall, the High Flight Hall, the Innovation Hall, the Glory in the Sky Hall, the Soaring Flight Hall, and the Luo Yang Memorial Hall.
The park features over 1,950 historical photos, more than 1,200 artifacts, and various interactive aviation science projects. Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences such as a 1:2 concept jet model, a garden-style factory area display, a high-speed wind tunnel experiment, an aircraft ejection seat demonstration, fighter jet engine interaction, and simulations of static aircraft tests. The park also includes displays of valuable equipment, such as the meritorious lathe, a significant tool in China’s aviation history.
