The Kalachakra Mandala Cultural Expo Center (香巴拉时轮坛城文化博览中心), established in 2005, is situated in the Dukezong Ancient Town of Shangri-La City, embodying a blend of modern and Tibetan architectural styles, making it a landmark structure in Shangri-La. This magnificent building covers an area of 22 acres, with a total floor area of 25,131 square meters. The main building, a central tower, stands 11 stories tall, reaching approximately 60 meters in height, making it the tallest and most layered Tibetan landmark in Diqing.
The design of the entire Cultural Expo Center is unique, particularly its exterior design, decoration, and murals, which are particularly prominent. The top floor features a white stupa-style gold-plated dome, which is unparalleled in Tibetan areas. The interior of the cultural center showcases the culmination of Tibetan culture, serving as an ideal large-scale venue for comprehensive introductions to Tibetan culture and Tibetan Buddhism.

The Kalachakra Mandala Cultural Expo Center is located on Changzheng Avenue in Shangri-La City, Diqing, Yunnan Province. To get there, you can take bus Shangri-La 1 or Shangri-La 2 and get off at Tancheng Square Stop (坛城广场站).

Historical Artifacts and Ethnic Crafts
The center boasts a rich collection of historical artifacts and ethnic crafts. It houses the largest indoor Kalachakra Vajra Buddha statue in the country, the world’s largest indoor Kalachakra three-dimensional mandala, and around two thousand exhibited Tibetan artifacts, including six national first-level documents. The Kalachakra three-dimensional mandala, along with 1699 thangka paintings, successfully applied for the Guinness World Records. The Kalachakra Vajra Buddha statue and the Four Medical Classics series of thangka paintings have also successfully applied for the Guinness World Records in Shanghai. These precious collections have made the Kalachakra Mandala Cultural Expo Center a truly valuable cultural exhibition hall with extremely high cultural value.
Exhibition Halls on Different Floors
As a cultural expo center, the venue is divided into different exhibition halls on each floor. The first floor features a spacious hall, capable of accommodating a large number of visitors simultaneously, providing information about the basic information of the Shangri-La Kalachakra Mandala Scenic Area. The second floor serves as a trade area for ethnic goods and jewelry, showcasing a variety of Tibetan specialty products and jewelry. From the third floor upwards, there is a central hall where the Kalachakra Vajra Buddha is enshrined. The surrounding third, fourth, fifth, and sixth floors house a total of twenty exhibition halls, displaying various precious artifacts and artworks. On the seventh floor and above, there are centers for learning and practice, a scripture repository, and a treasure trove, creating a splendid and colorful Tibetan cultural atmosphere throughout the entire building.
