Wuhan Museum is conveniently situated at 373 Qingnian Road, Jianghan District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. It is located just 300 meters to the west of Hankou Railway Station. To get there, you can choose one of the following ways:
Bus: Take bus 10, 79, 326, 342, 411, 509, 512, 584, 603, 703, 730, or 809 and get off at Qingnian Road Municipal Museum Stop (青年路市博物馆站).
Metro: The closest metro station to Wuhan Museum is Hankou Railway Station (汉口火车站). After getting out of the station from Exit D1, walk about 350 meters to the south to reach the museum.

Ancient History of Wuhan
The “Ancient History of Wuhan” exhibition is located on the second floor of the Wuhan Museum, spanning 1,000 square meters and featuring a 600-meter exhibition path. Opened to the public in October 2002, this exhibition is divided into five parts, each representing a different era of Wuhan’s history: “Jianghan Shuguang” (Prehistoric Period), “Shangfeng Chuyun” (Xia, Shang, and Zhou Dynasties), “Junshi Yaojin” (Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, and Northern and Southern Dynasties), “Shuilu Shuangcheng” (Sui, Tang, Song, and Yuan Dynasties), and “Jiusheng Tongqu” (Ming, Qing, and pre-modern port opening in Hankou).
Modern History of Wuhan
The “Modern History of Wuhan” exhibition is located on the third floor, covering 1,000 square meters and consisting of one introductory hall and three main exhibition halls. This exhibition, launched on May 16, 2009, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Wuhan, is divided into three sections: “Jianghan Chaoshi” (The Rise of Jianghan), “Huazhong Duhui” (Metropolitan Central China), and “Yuhuo Chongsheng” (Rebirth through Trials and Tribulations).
Treasures Through the Ages
On the first floor of the Wuhan Museum, visitors can explore the “Treasures Through the Ages” exhibition, which spans 660 square meters and has a 150-meter exhibition path. This exhibition is divided into seven sections, showcasing a diverse range of artifacts, including bronze objects, jade, wood, ivory carvings, inkstones, seal art, snuff bottles, and cloisonné.
Ancient Ceramic Art
The “Ancient Ceramic Art” exhibition is housed in the first exhibition hall on the first floor of the museum. Covering an area of 400 square meters and featuring a 100-meter exhibition path, this exhibition displays over 100 ancient ceramic artifacts that provide insights into the rich history of ceramic art in the region.
Ming and Qing Calligraphy and Painting
In the third exhibition hall on the first floor, visitors can appreciate the beauty of calligraphy and painting from the Ming and Qing dynasties. This 400-square-meter exhibition space features a 100-meter exhibition path and showcases the finest examples of calligraphy and painting from the museum’s collection.
