Highlights of Zhengzhou Zoo
Monkey Mountain
Monkey Mountain at Zhengzhou Zoo has always been one of the most popular spots for visitors. It is surrounded by isolation ditches planted with yellow fragrant flowers, creating a wild ecological environment. In the central activity area, several large-scale thousand-headed paulownia trees are planted. There is a curved shallow pit for drinking water. Additionally, wooden ladders, swings made of dry branches, and tree stumps as benches are set up.
Elephant House
The Elephant House area at Zhengzhou Zoo has been renovated while preserving the existing tropical palm grove. It serves as a backdrop for the elephant house, with a cold-season grass lawn and a cleverly designed small square. A pair of elephant sculptures are placed in the area, highlighting the scenic spot. Two groups of scenic stones are also arranged, surrounded by perennial ground cover and seasonal flowers, creating a tranquil atmosphere in the Elephant House area.
Panda Pavilion
The Panda Pavilion at Zhengzhou Zoo features bamboo as its main design element. To reflect the characteristics of this area, various types of bamboo such as Phyllostachys edulis, Dendrocalamus membranaceus, and Bambusa multiplex are planted in suitable locations according to their appearance. On the east side of the outdoor activity area, there is a small square under the trees. The square is paved with panda images and footprints and equipped with benches. A group of cartoon panda sculptures is placed in the flowerbeds, ensuring that pandas are everywhere you look when exploring this area.
Birdsong Forest
The Birdsong Forest at Zhengzhou Zoo is covered by a large net supported by one main pillar and sixteen side pillars, with the main pillar standing at 30 meters high and the side pillars at 16 meters high. Passing through the flower arch, visitors can walk along the winding elevated bridge directly to Parrot Mountain. Below the mountain, the square, rockery, waterfall, and stream complement each other, creating a picturesque scene with the Waterfowl Lake. At the exit, there are two artificially piled small hills with a variety of trees, shrubs, and ground cover plants arranged in a harmonious manner. The entire park selects suitable trees, shrubs, and ground cover plants based on the types of habitats preferred by birds, creating a natural-like plant community that balances ecological considerations with landscaping aesthetics.
