From exploring the wonders of marine life at Dalian Shengya Ocean World to enjoying the vast sandy shores of Xinghai Bay Beach, and experiencing the local wildlife at Dalian Forest Zoo, this itinerary combines education, fun, and adventure. Whether you’re relaxing by the beach or taking in stunning coastal views, Dalian is the perfect destination for a memorable family trip.

Day 1: Dalian Shengya Ocean World – Xinghai Bay Beach – Xinghai Square

Start your day with a visit to Dalian Shengya Ocean World, where kids can experience marine animals and ocean wonders up close. Shengya features four different pavilions, each with its own unique highlights. The Ocean World pavilion, home to the longest 118-meter underwater tunnel in Asia, offers dolphin shows, while the Polar World showcases animals that are rarely seen, such as penguins, polar bears, arctic wolves, arctic foxes, and sea lion performances. It’s highly recommended to purchase a combined ticket for better value.

In the afternoon, head to Xinghai Bay Beach, the largest artificial seawater beach in China. This is a perfect spot for kids to play in the water and sand. Nearby, Xinghai Square features giant Huabiao columns, a musical fountain, and various sculptures, with a stunning sea view and a night-time view of the cross-sea bridge. There is also an amusement park on the square, which children will surely enjoy.

Accommodation: It’s recommended to stay near Xinghai Square. There are affordable, well-rated hotels with family rooms, offering great value for money and convenient access to the attractions.

Day 2: Binhai Road – Dalian Forest Zoo – Fuzhijiao Park

On your second day, explore Binhai Road heading east. You can walk, take a taxi, or opt for the sightseeing bus, which allows you to hop on and off as you please. Binhai Road is a must-see for visitors to Dalian, and while the full route is long, a short segment offers plenty of scenic views.

First, visit the Dalian Forest Zoo, where kids can see a variety of birds, fierce predators, and large herbivores. The zoo offers an aerial cable car that provides a stunning panoramic view of the vast sea, Xinghai Square, and the city’s skyline.

Next, head to Fuzhijiao Park, home to the Fuzhijiao Beach, one of Dalian’s top four beaches. The clear waters here make it an ideal spot for children to play along the shore. In the evening, return to your hotel and enjoy Dalian’s beautiful nightscape.

Accommodation: It’s recommended to stay near the airport or train station for convenience when it’s time to head home.
