Changchun World Sculpture Park (长春世界雕塑园) covers an area of 92 hectares, including 11.8 hectares of water. The park features 454 sculptures created by 404 artists from 216 countries and regions. These works represent various cultural influences, including Eskimo, Mayan, Maori, Indian, and Eastern cultures, as well as a variety of artistic styles such as realism, abstraction, modern, and postmodern art. One of the park’s highlights is the large-scale sculpture “Friendship • Peace • Spring,” created by renowned Chinese artists Ye Yushan, Pan He, Cheng Yunxian, Wang Keqing, and Cao Chunsheng. This masterpiece is known for its elegant design and grand presence.

The park serves as a theme park dedicated to contemporary sculpture, showcasing a diverse range of global sculpture styles. It integrates natural landscapes with cultural elements, creating a modern urban sculpture garden. Additionally, it is the venue for the Changchun World Sculpture Conference and the Changchun International Sculpture Exhibition. The park has received the prestigious “New China Urban Sculpture Construction Achievement Award.”

Changchun World Sculpture Park is located at 9518 Renmin Street, Nanguan District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, China. To get there, you can choose one of the following ways:

Bus: Take bus 208, 307, G130, G15, G240, G252, G270, Z161, Z28, Z303, or Z312 and get off at Sculpture Park Stop (雕塑公园站).

Metro: The closest metro station to Changchun World Sculpture Park is City Government. After getting out of the station from Exit B2, walk about 300 meters to the north to reach the entrance.

Located within Changchun World Sculpture Park, this building serves as the park’s main structure with a floor area of 12,500 square meters. The museum houses over 1,000 rare sculptures, including renowned African Makonde wood carvings and classical works from both Chinese and international artists. Its exterior design is striking, making the building itself a sculptural masterpiece. Inside, various exhibition halls showcase art pieces from five continents, offering visitors a rich experience of diverse global styles. The museum also features display rooms, classrooms, an international conference hall, and sculpture studios, providing a comprehensive space for art lovers to explore and create.

This museum spans 5,640 square meters and was designed by He Jingtang, an esteemed architect and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Opened to the public on September 1, 2011, the museum features three exhibition halls: “Artistic Africa,” “Charming Africa,” and “Black Africa.” It boasts a collection of 8,491 artworks, including carvings and paintings from countries like Tanzania, Malawi, and Zambia, offering a detailed record of East African modern art over the past 50 years. The museum holds the largest and most diverse collection of Makonde wood carvings in China, showcasing their mysterious uniqueness and powerful artistic expression.


Wei Xiaoming Art Museum

Situated in the northwest corner of the park, this 3,500-square-meter museum opened in autumn 2016. It includes sculpture exhibition halls, a display room for painting drafts, an artist studio, a sunroom, an art salon, and an outdoor sculpture garden. The museum permanently exhibits 232 sculptures by Wei Xiaoming, along with 178 prints, illustrations, watercolors, sketches, oil paintings, and design drafts, spanning his career since the 1980s. The museum also continues to collect all of Wei Xiaoming’s works, offering a comprehensive look at his artistic journey.

Located in the southeast corner of Changchun World Sculpture Park, this museum is the largest of its kind in China, with a total floor area of 18,000 square meters. Designed by renowned architect and Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Cheng Taining, the museum’s architectural concept, “Embracing the Universe, Sculpting Time,” gives the building a dynamic appearance, resembling a giant stone breaking through the ground. Its bold and monumental design embodies strength and depth.

As an important hub for connecting Changchun with global sculpture culture, the Changchun Sculpture Museum integrates sculpture collection, exhibition, cultural exchange, research, education, and creation. It provides a rich platform to enhance public cultural knowledge, inspire creativity, and foster artistic appreciation. The museum features several key exhibitions, including the “Culture & City – A Chronicle of Changchun’s Urban Sculpture Development” achievement exhibit, the “Spring’s Glory and Autumn’s Fruit” Cao Chunsheng Sculpture Art Museum, the Wang Keqing Art Museum, a Greek Sculpture Art Gallery, and a variety of other permanent collections.
