Jilin travel guide

Jilin Province is located in northeastern China, sharing borders with Heilongjiang, Liaoning, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It also neighbors Russia and faces the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea across the Tumen and Yalu Rivers. Known for its vast black soil plains, Jilin is a major commercial grain production base and a significant industrial hub—home to the birthplace of New China’s first automobile.

The province is renowned for its “Eight Famous Scenic Spots of Jilin,” which include the majestic Changbai Mountain, the ancient Koguryo ruins, Xianghai Nature Reserve, Fangchuan Border Scenic Area, the Puppet Manchurian Palace Museum, the rime-covered Songhua Lake in Jilin City, Jingyuetan National Forest Park, and the icy beauty of Chagan Lake. Other notable attractions include the Changchun Beihu National Wetland Park, Guanma Karst Cave, Momoge National Nature Reserve, the North Mountain Temple Complex in Jilin, and the grand Jinding Buddha. These diverse landscapes and cultural treasures make Jilin a fascinating destination for travelers.
