One of the most notable features is a natural stalactite formation resembling Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy, blending seamlessly with the man-made statues, creating a harmonious fusion of natural and artificial beauty.

Useful Tips Summarized from Reviews

Timing and Transportation:

  • Note that the last tour for the sightseeing car inside the park ends at 18:40. Plan your visit accordingly to ensure you have enough time to explore.
  • Consider the transportation options to reach Dragon Palace Cave. At the West Station transportation hub near the high-speed railway station exit, you can take a shuttle bus directly to the cave, which takes about 30-40 minutes and costs 15 yuan per person. From the visitor center at the park, you’ll need to transfer to the park’s shuttle bus, which takes about 3.5 kilometers to reach the entrance.

Lunch Options: Outside the Dragon Palace ticket center, there’s a street lined with small shops where you can grab lunch before entering the cave. It’s advisable to fuel up before your exploration to keep your energy levels up.

Peak Season Considerations: During the peak season in July and August, expect longer wait times for boat rides, ranging from 40 minutes to over an hour. Once inside the cave, the time spent exploring the first and second sections typically does not exceed 4 minutes each. If you have ample time and don’t mind waiting in line, you can ride the boats to the first and second sections of the cave multiple times. Opt for seating in the front row of the boat for better scenic views.

Bus Schedule: The shuttle service from Dragon Palace to Huangguoshu Waterfall operates at specific times. During the summer, bus depart at 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00. In the off-season, there are only two departures per day at 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

“On the first night, the flight landed in Guiyang, and I took a high-speed train for about half an hour to Anshun West Station, where I stayed at a Vienna Hotel (维也纳酒店) nearby. This way, I could easily head to the scenic area the next morning, which is about a half-hour drive. The scenic area is quite unique, especially the experience of riding a small boat through the underground caves, which feels very dreamy. Currently, Anshun has two 5A attractions:… Read more »

The Dragon Palace is divided into two parts: a boat ride in the first half and a hike in the second half. At first, I thought that after visiting the Tianhe Pool caves, the Dragon Palace would just be a similar routine of taking a boat again, but I was completely blown away. The scale of the caves in the Dragon Palace is incredibly grand and majestic, far surpassing those at Tianhe Pool. After the boat ride, most of the… Read more »

The Huangguoshu Waterfall is very close by, and accessing the highway is quite convenient. On the way to the Longgong Cave, you can see the large characters “龙宫” along the road, though you might encounter some cattle and sheep, so if you’re driving, be sure to avoid them in time. First, we climbed a hill to view the waterfall in the limestone cave; this is upstream from the Huangguoshu Waterfall. Personally, I feel that this waterfall has a larger flow… Read more »

I waited for four hours to board a boat at Longgong Cave in Guizhou! This was my personal experience! Everyone should definitely avoid coming here! We entered the scenic area at 2 PM, but didn’t get on the boat until 6 PM. Although the scenery is beautiful, I suggest visiting during the off-season instead.

Once inside, there is only one path to follow. You can walk along it (if you don’t want to walk, you can take a boat back the same way). After walking out of the final Guanyin Cave, continue forward to Xuantang. Queue up to take a boat (around 10 minutes), and after getting off the boat, pass through the wheat fields (the ones with dragons in them, you can take overhead shots behind the visitor center), and walk for about… Read more »

At the ticket office entrance, take a sightseeing car for a 10-minute ride to the entrance of Longgong scenic area. Start walking and follow the path to the boat dock, where you must visit the natural cave formations. After about a 20-minute walk, you will reach the famous site, Longmen Flying Waterfall (龙门飞瀑). It’s advisable to have a raincoat with you, and if you enjoy getting soaked by the waterfall, feel free to go closer and get drenched. After crossing… Read more »

In the morning at 8:05, take a bus from the Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area Passenger Reception Center to Longgong. At 9:00, start hiking after boarding the sightseeing bus, pass by the Dragon Gate Flying Waterfall and take the viewing platform route without taking the elevator. Climb from the cave behind the elevator to the Heavenly Pool, and then enter the Dragon Palace. Due to heavy rain last night, the second entrance to the Dragon Palace was closed because of high… Read more »
