Within the park, a 24,000-square-meter stone forest landscape dates back to the late Sinian period, around 600 million years ago. The long-term effects of marine transgression and regression, along with the rise and fall of tides, have sculpted the rocks into a myriad of shapes, resembling turtles, elephants, and other creatures. This unique rock formation has earned the nickname “Marine Erosion Zoo” from visitors.
Coastal National Geopark
The Coastal National Geopark is renowned for its unique coastal landforms, striking rock formations on the beach, and the rich paleontological fossils embedded in the layers of rock. The park is celebrated for its mythical legends and has earned titles such as “Nature’s Miracle,” “Frozen Animal Kingdom,” “Divine Sculpture Park,” and “Natural Geological Museum.” Visitors can marvel at various naturally formed sculptures like “Monkey Watching the Sea,” “Dinosaur Exploring the Sea,” “Soaring Roc,” “Beethoven’s Profile,” “Hedgehog Foraging,” and “Crab Emerging from the Hole.” These diverse natural wonders stretch from west to east, each a testament to nature’s extraordinary artistry.
