Highlights of Hebin Park

Hebin Park, with its diverse recreational offerings, can be broadly divided into three distinctive zones: the Children’s Amusement Area, the Science and Technology Exhibition Area, and the Tranquil Rest Zone.

The Children’s Amusement Area, located in the northeast part of the park, immediately to the left upon entering the main gate, is a haven of joy for young visitors. Here, a decommissioned Ilyushin Il-14 aircraft serves as an educational attraction. The area is adorned with various electric spaceships, spinning chairs, and a grand “Carousel,” surrounded by artificial hills, ponds, pavilions, and green lawns.

Descending from the fountain area down a broad set of stone steps, visitors reach the banks of the Nanming River. Lined with lush trees, this section features a roller skating rink and a long corridor for leisurely strolls. Along the river, a modern-style tea house complements the landscape, and a picturesque dam bridge connects both sides, allowing boating activities on the river.

The Science and Technology Exhibition Area hosts a variety of scientific and technological exhibitions, catering to the interests of science enthusiasts in Guiyang. This section regularly showcases cutting-edge advancements, providing an engaging space for educational exploration and discovery.

The heart of the park is the Tranquil Rest Zone, where the highest hill is adorned with a theater, offering a scenic view. Opposite the theater stands Dongfeng Pavilion, and by the riverbank, there is a roller skating rink for recreation. The park also features a peach orchard, a flower garden, and a greenhouse. In spring, the peach blossoms in the orchard create a vibrant spectacle of nature’s rebirth.

The flower garden cultivates a variety of flowers, including primroses, camellias, and chrysanthemums. The greenhouse hosts potted plants such as roses, bamboo orchids, peace lilies, night-blooming jasmine, ferns, and begonias. With over 60,000 square meters of flower beds, lawns, and more than 660,000 square meters of greenery, the park hosts events like the “Chrysanthemum Exhibition” and the “Orchid Exhibition,” adding a burst of color and fragrance to the serene surroundings.
