The Korean Ethnic Minority Folk Village (朝鲜族民俗园), located in Yanji City, Jilin Province, covers an area of 9.4 hectares with a building area of 6,145 square meters. The village is divided into five functional zones: Traditional Food Experience Zone, Traditional Folk House Zone, Century-Old Residence Experience Zone, Traditional Sports and Performance Zone, and Traditional Culture Display Zone.
In 2022, the Yanji government upgraded the village, and in 2023, new attractions were added, including a giant straw bear, the new IP character “Xiao Yan,” and the Tile Blessing Wall, which have become popular photo spots. Additionally, the village launched new features such as the nighttime show “Show Chunxiang” and large-scale live performances.
Within the Folk Village, visitors can explore quaint traditional houses, play on swings, experience seesaw and wrestling activities, and enjoy the local food street and wedding hall. Guests have the opportunity to wear traditional Korean ethnic costumes, learn lively Korean dance moves, and even take part in a traditional Korean wedding.
A highlight is the Korean Ethnic Commercial Street, which stretches 1.6 kilometers and covers an area of nearly 40,000 square meters. This two-to-three-story pedestrian street, rich in regional characteristics and historical ambiance, integrates cultural elements into the shopping experience. It provides visitors with an immersive experience of the Korean ethnic minority’s daily life and traditions, offering a glimpse into their vibrant cultural heritage.
