Begin your journey in the peaceful surroundings of Yang Gong Dike, Feilai Peak, and Lingyin Temple, where you can indulge in vegetarian delicacies and experience the city’s serene side. Spend your afternoons exploring the picturesque northern part of West Lake, with its iconic spots like Su Causeway and Broken Bridge, all while soaking in the vibrant springtime atmosphere. Whether you’re savoring Longjing tea or enjoying local culinary delights, this itinerary offers a refreshing escape and a deep dive into the timeless beauty of Hangzhou.

Day 1: Qinghefang Street > West Lake > Yang Gong Dike > Hangzhou Songcheng Scenic Area

Start your morning exploring the lakeside area of Hangzhou along Binhe Road and Nanshan Road, either by walking or cycling. You can enjoy lunch at local favorites like Waipojia (外婆家) or Green Tea Restaurant (绿茶餐厅), or explore local snacks in Qinghefang Street. In the afternoon, visit the southern part of West Lake, including attractions like Liu Lang Wen Ying Park, Leifeng Pagoda at Sunset, Nanping Evening Bell, Flower Harbor Viewing Fish, and Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. For dinner, head to Zhiyueguan Restaurant (知味观) in the Yang Gong Dike area, and later enjoy the performances at Songcheng Scenic Area.

Accommodation: In the evening, you can find several vacation hotels, resorts, and even a State Guesthouse within the Yang Gong Dike Scenic Area, though they are limited and on the pricier side. More affordable options like chain hotels, guesthouses, and boutique homestays are available on Santai Mountain Road, west of Yang Gong Dike, so it’s best to book in advance.

Dining: Try local specialties such as Dongpo Pork, West Lake Vinegar Fish, Longjing Shrimp, Shrimp and Eel Noodles, Hangzhou Sauce Duck, and Shengjian (pan-fried buns). Popular dining spots include Waipojia (外婆家) and Green Tea Restaurant (绿茶餐厅) along Binhe Road, and Linglong Town Restaurant (玲珑小镇餐厅) on Nanshan Road. Despite being the peak tourist season in spring with slightly higher prices, the generous portions make it worthwhile to dine with friends. Don’t miss out on Pan-Fried Bun shops near West Lake for crispy, juicy buns that are simply irresistible.

Day 2: Yang Gong Dike > Feilai Peak > Lingyin Temple > West Lake > Wulin Square

Start your day by visiting Feilai Peak and Lingyin Temple, where you can savor vegetarian dishes and experience Hangzhou’s tranquil side. In the afternoon, explore the northern part of West Lake with stops at Su Causeway Spring Dawn, Quyuan Fenghe, Double Peaks Piercing the Clouds, Gushan Scenic Area, Pinghu Qiu Yue, and Broken Bridge. While spring might not offer lotus flowers or snow scenes, this itinerary provides a peaceful escape with vibrant springtime scenery. If you are particularly fond of Longjing tea, consider adjusting your plan. After visiting Lingyin Temple, you can walk south to Longjing Village, Wulao Peak, and Hupao Spring to taste and purchase premium West Lake Longjing tea.

Accommodation: The area around Wulin Square mainly offers budget and economy hotels, providing convenient lodging options.

Dining: Enjoy dishes such as Dongpo Pork, Longjing Shrimp, Crab Meat Xiaolongbao (steamed buns), West Lake Chuancai Soup, Honey Glazed Pork, and Lingyin Temple’s vegetarian meals. Lingyin Scenic Area features various casual restaurants, eateries, and vegetarian options. After visiting Lingyin Temple, you can enjoy a serene vegetarian meal, reflecting the calm of your journey. For dinner, Wulin Square offers a variety of Hangzhou cuisine, Japanese restaurants, fast food outlets, and some revolving restaurants.
