Luo Gu Chao Tian (Drums and Gongs Resounding to the Sky)
Spanning an impressive 70,000 square meters, Luo Gu Chao Tian offers breathtaking views of the picturesque Copper Drum Gorge along the Yangtze River. Visitors can admire natural wonders such as the “Tiger Head Rock” and the “Five Stone Flowers.” During the spring and summer seasons, the obervation platform hosts the Tieshanping International Forest Half Marathon and the Xiajiang Concert on the Lawn, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Suo Jiang Yi Zhi (Locking the River Relic Site)
Renowned as the first gorge of Yuzhou (ancient name for Chongqing), Copper Drum Gorge stands as a formidable gateway to Chongqing City with steep cliffs flanking the river. Known as the “Eastern Barrier,” it was strategically vital and historically defended. The most famous event was a battle during the late Ming dynasty, where iron chains were used to obstruct Zhang Xianzhong’s attack on Chongqing. The Suo Jiang Yi Zhi comprises remnants of this defense system, featuring stone caves, iron chains, suspension bridges, and cannon placements. While only the stone cave remains today, historical records aid in iron chains’ reconstruction.
Seng Guan Si (Monk Official Temple)
Perched atop the northern bank of Copper Drum Gorge, Seng Guan Si has a rich history dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Managed by government-appointed officials responsible for monk affairs, the temple was originally established during the Tang Dynasty, later deteriorating during the Song Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, it was revived and renamed Shengguo Temple. Following the destruction by Zhang Xianzhong, only the ruins remained. In 2001, reconstruction began, covering an area of 4 hectares. The temple houses ancient incense burners with a history of over 800 years and a stone seven-level pagoda, both considered precious artifacts.
Hua Tian Mi Xiang (Flower Field Fragrance Seeking)
Located along the Mi Xiang Road, Hua Tian Mi Xiang covers an expansive 150,000 square meters and is divided into three zones: Mi Xiang Pavilion, Mi Xiang Lake, and Forest Leisure Area. The landscape includes four-season flower fields, warbler grass wetlands, forest boardwalks, Mi Xiang Lake, and Mi Xiang Pavilion. Spring brings tulips, carnations, peonies, daffodils, chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, magnolias, lilacs, and peach blossoms. Summer features lilies, peonies, banana flowers, jasmine, hibiscus, gardenias, oleanders, water lilies, milans, and pearl orchids.
