Highlights of Wailingding Island
Shijingshan Park

The main peak of Wailingding Island, Lingding Peak, stands at an elevation of 311.8 meters. During the months of April to July, this area often shrouded in light mist creates a magical scene, with wisps of white clouds swirling around like delicate, transparent silk. The clouds drift gracefully, at varying speeds and heights, evoking a sense of wonder reminiscent of a fairyland.
From the peak, a scenic stone staircase with over 1,200 steps leads down to the Dadong Bay Water Recreation Center, offering breathtaking views along the way.
Views of Hong Kong

Wailingding Island is uniquely positioned just across the water from Hong Kong, making it the only island on the mainland from which visitors can see the city. Looking towards Hong Kong, iconic landmarks such as Victoria Peak, Aberdeen, Lantau Island, Lamma Island, Cheung Chau, and the Tsing Ma Bridge are all visible. On clear days, the skyscrapers and bustling streets of Hong Kong are easily recognizable; during foggy weather, the scenery appears as a mysterious mirage, enhancing the island’s allure.
“Jade Belt Around the Waist”

On both sides of Wailingding Island, a beautifully carved stone path winds through the hills and rocky outcrops, known as “Lovers’ Road.” This path meanders gracefully between lush greenery and azure seas, resembling a jade belt encircling the waist of a beautiful woman, which is how it got its name, “Jade Belt Around the Waist.”
Beidi Morning Bell

Beidi, also known as the God of Water, presides over the island from a stunning 8-meter statue seated halfway up Lingding Peak, enveloped in a halo of auspicious energy. This imposing figure serves as a place of worship for many visitors. Nearby, a giant bell resonates with a powerful sound that can be heard for miles, adding to the island’s enchanting atmosphere.
