Wanda Changbai Mountain International Ski Resort (万达长白山国际滑雪场) is a world-class ski destination, part of the larger Changbai Mountain International Tourism Resort. With over 20 billion yuan in supporting infrastructure, it boasts a collection of high-end luxury hotels, including brands such as Park Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and Westin. The resort also features a vacation town, adding to its appeal as a premier destination.
Located in the prime ski region at 41°N latitude, the ski resort benefits from favorable weather conditions, with snowfall influenced by maritime air from the Sea of Japan and Siberian monsoons. The area receives over 1200 mm of precipitation annually, with a ski season that stretches from November to April, offering more than 6 months of excellent skiing conditions. The snow depth often exceeds 1 meter, with light, fluffy snow that is favored by skiers. The resort is also known for its mild winter temperatures and calm winds, creating a comfortable skiing experience. The surrounding Changbai Mountain forests add a sense of mystery, while long daylight hours and perfect temperature-humidity balance make it a unique winter destination.
Designed by Ecosign, a renowned Canadian company that has designed five Olympic Winter Games venues, the ski area covers 7 square kilometers. It features 43 ski trails, including 9 advanced trails meeting Olympic standards, 14 intermediate trails, and 20 beginner trails, totaling approximately 30 kilometers in length. The ski area can accommodate up to 8,000 skiers at once and spans 935,000 square meters. There are 7 cable cars, including Austrian-built detachable chairlifts and gondolas, as well as 12 magic carpets for beginners, with a capacity of 22,000 skiers per hour.
The resort includes three well-equipped ski service centers: Town Ski Service Center, Guosong Ski Service Center, and Hyatt Ski Lodge. These centers, covering over 10,000 square meters, offer rental equipment, maintenance services, ski schools, dining options, and children’s facilities. At the highest point of the slopes, a 4,000-square-meter mountaintop restaurant provides stunning views of the ancient, mysterious Changbai Mountain, offering a perfect place for visitors to dine and relax.
