Wutong Mountain Scenic Area (梧桐山风景区) is located in the eastern part of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, covering an area of 31.82 square kilometers. It boasts a remarkable vegetation coverage of over 95% and is home to Donghu Park, Xianhu Botanical Garden, and Shatoujiao Forest Farm. This natural scenic area is unique in that it combines coastal mountains and natural vegetation within an urban setting.
The main peak of Wutong Mountain stands at an elevation of 943.7 meters, making it the highest peak in Shenzhen. The majestic mountain scenery, often shrouded in shifting clouds and mist, beautifully contrasts with the expansive Dapeng Bay. The area is also characterized by deep streams and lush plant life, serving as a sanctuary for rare flora and fauna in the Pearl River Delta region.

Wutong Mountain Scenic Area is located at 2076 Luosha Road, Liantang Street, Luohu District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. The scenic area spans across three districts: Luohu, Yantian, and Longgang. Geographically, it is situated between longitudes 113°17′ to 114°18′ and latitudes 22°23′ to 22°43′. To get there, you can choose one of the following ways:
Bus: Take bus 27, 57, 69, 85, 111, 113, 308, M103, M133, M191, M199, M205, M207, M364, M437, M468, M520, or M555 and get off at Wutong Mountain South Metro Station Stop (梧桐山南地铁站).
Metro: The closest metro station to the attraction is Wutong Mountain South (梧桐山南) on line 2(8). After getting out of the station from Exit D, you will be standing at the south entrance.

Fenggu Mingqin Scenic Area

Fenggu Mingqin Scenic Area is located at the northern foot of Wutong Mountain Scenic Area, nestled between Wutong Misty Clouds Scenic Area and Xianhu Botanical Garden. Covering a planned area of 2.43 square kilometers, it centers around the flowing waters of Mashuijian, featuring abundant water resources such as streams and brooks.
The small Wutong area within the scenic spot offers breathtaking views of Shenzhen city, providing a panoramic visual corridor along its ridges. Due to its relatively gentle terrain and convenient access, Fenggu Mingqin is a popular destination for visitors of all ages, ideal for hiking and enjoying the scenery. The notable site “Yitian Zhaofeng” provides the best vantage point for overlooking Shenzhen, as well as distant views of Hong Kong’s New Territories, Dapeng Bay, Shenzhen Bay, and Lingding Ocean.
The area is rich in water features, with Mashuijian formed by the confluence of six mountain streams that flow year-round, particularly abundant in spring and summer. The crystal-clear waters create a serene atmosphere, while lush vegetation thrives along the valleys, showcasing a variety of plant species.
Wutong Misty Clouds Scenic Area

Wutong Misty Clouds Scenic Area spans a planned area of 6.35 square kilometers and features prominent natural resources, including the main peak of Wutong Mountain – Dawutong – and the serene Taishan Stream. At an elevation of 943.7 meters, Dawutong is the highest peak in the region, perfect for climbing and enjoying the expansive views.
The area boasts lush vegetation and deep valleys that create a complex and favorable microclimate. Its proximity to the coast generates ever-changing clouds and mist due to rising air currents. Taishan Stream, similar to Mashuijian, is formed by the merging of 14 mountain streams, providing rich water and plant resources. However, unlike Mashuijian, the terrain of Taishan Stream is more gentle, leading to calmer waters. Visitors can enjoy hiking, sightseeing, and exploring the area’s tranquil beauty.
Biwu Qifeng Scenic Area

Biwu Qifeng Scenic Area is located on the southeastern slope of Wutong Mountain Scenic Area, nestled against the backdrop of Dawutong. It covers a planned area of 4.68 square kilometers and boasts favorable conditions, featuring gentle yet varied terrain and abundant water sources from Enshang Reservoir. The area is rich in vegetation, providing a layered landscape.
A 4-meter-wide road has been constructed leading to Enshang Reservoir, enhancing accessibility and facilitating activities like birdwatching, sunrise viewing, and fishing. A tourist service center is situated near the reservoir, with a viewing platform on the southern side of the dam, allowing visitors to enjoy the sunrise in the morning, the evening glow at dusk, and panoramic views of the Wutong peaks to the north and the Dapeng Islands to the south.
Donghu Park Scenic Area

Donghu Park Scenic Area, originally known as “Reservoir Park,” was built to commemorate the Dongshen Water Supply Project. It connects to Wutong Mountain to the east and borders Shenzhen Reservoir to the north. Key attractions within the park include the Spoon Mountain Scenic Area, Gate 1 Scenic Area, Gate 4 Scenic Area, Ornamental Plant Garden, Rhododendron Sculpture Park, Bonsai World, Tree Garden, Ancient Tree Garden, Fishing Area, Palm Garden, Artificial Lake, and Chenxiang Pavilion.
Popular recreational activities include dry-land tobogganing, a fun park, and a playful animal park. The area also features large-scale cultural and recreational facilities such as the Dajiale Outdoor Theater, Hongli Calligraphy and Painting Museum, gateball courts, tennis courts, fitness parks, and climbing trails like Guoduoling and Xiling. Additionally, the city’s first art museum, Shenzhen Art Museum, is located within the area.
Xianhu Botanical Garden

Xianhu Botanical Garden is a significant research base for ornamental plants in China and the largest botanical garden in South China. It serves as a multifunctional landscape garden that combines plant collection and research, science education, and recreational tourism. The garden houses over 6,000 species of plants, including more than 300 nationally protected species.
The garden is divided into six main areas: the Fossil Forest Area, the Heaven and Earth Area, the Lake Area, the Temple Area, the Desert Plant Area, and the Pine, Cypress, and Rhododendron Area. The overall architectural style of the garden is classical, featuring tranquil waters and lush greenery throughout the year. The native vegetation is well-preserved, contributing to a fresh atmosphere and elegant environment, which has earned it the nickname “Paradise on Earth.”
Within the garden, Hongfa Temple serves as an important center for religious culture research and dissemination in the Shenzhen-Hong Kong area. It is also one of the most significant Buddhist sites in Shenzhen, known for its vibrant religious activities and popularity among tourists.
