Yuntai Mountain Glass Skywalk (云台山玻璃栈道), perched on the Fenghuang Ridge of Zhuyu Peak in Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo, Henan Province, China, is an awe-inspiring marvel that offers visitors an exhilarating and vertigo-inducing experience. Situated halfway up the mountain at an elevation of 1080 meters, this glass walkway spans approximately 400 meters, with one segment following the cliffside in a U-shape and the other hanging over a precipitous drop of a kilometer. Divided into two construction phases, the first phase officially opened to tourists on September 20, 2015, followed by the second phase in July 2016. Crafted entirely from special tempered glass, each pane measures about 2.7 centimeters thick and can withstand a load of over 800 kilograms per square meter. The handrails consist of double-layer tempered glass, while the flooring comprises three layers of tempered glass, ensuring the safety of visitors.
Renowned for its thrilling and nerve-wracking allure, the Yuntai Mountain Glass Skywalk offers a heart-pounding adventure where visitors feel as though they are walking on air, affording them panoramic views of the magnificent mountain scenery. Standing atop the glass, suspended at a height of a kilometer, one can peer through the transparent floor to behold the sheer cliffs below and marvel at the distant vistas, evoking a sense of exhilarating excitement.
From the vantage point of the Yuntai Mountain Glass Skywalk, visitors can feast their eyes on scenic attractions such as Zhuyu Peak and Chongyang Pavilion, while below, they can admire landmarks like Wan Shan Temple and Xiaozhai Gorge, with the lush landscapes of Luotian spread out before them. This unique perspective allows tourists to appreciate the natural splendor and cultural heritage of Yuntai Mountain in a whole new light.
The Yuntai Mountain Glass Skywalk is open to visitors from March 1st to November 30th, from 06:30 to 18:30 (with the latest entry at 17:30), and from December 1st to February 28th of the following year, from 07:00 to 17:30 (with the latest entry at 16:30). Additionally, night tours of Yunxi Valley are available from March 1st, operating from 18:30 to 20:30. Visitors must purchase tickets to Yuntai Mountain to access the Glass Skywalk, with adult tickets priced at 210 RMB (including transportation fees within the scenic area).
