Dalian Travel Guide

Dalian, located at the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula and at the junction of the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea, is an important coastal city in China. It is known as the “City of Romance” due to its scenic coastal views and vibrant atmosphere. The city boasts a long and narrow coastline of over a hundred kilometers, featuring numerous natural beauty spots perfect for enjoying the sea and scenic views.

Dalian is also famous for its diverse and exotic streets, along with Zhongshan Square, which is home to countless century-old European-style buildings. This combination gives the city a distinct international flavor. The old-fashioned trams that still operate in the city center slowly pass through various iconic squares, symbolizing an era while also connecting key landmarks.

A popular summer destination in China, the best time to visit Dalian is during the summer months. Temperatures in June and July hover around 25°C, with the hottest days occurring in August, though they rarely exceed 30°C, and this only lasts for about two weeks. Summer is also Dalian’s rainy season, so visitors should be prepared with umbrellas. From late June to early September, the waters are warm enough for sea activities, but by mid-September, the sea begins to cool.
